Who is THEY?
I am sure everyone at camp has heard at least one of the following it in a conversation with another leader:
THEY will take care of fixing the broken window
THEY look after that
I wonder why THEY have not done something about that?
Who is THEY? In very simple terms THEY is EVERYONE. We are all responsible for ensuring that Camp Nemo and Ragged Falls are places that we are all be proud of.
How can you help?
Your help is as simple as making sure the building is cleaner at the end of the weekend than it was when you arrived (please remember that building sits empty during the week and dust and cob webs form – no fault of the group using the building the week prior). Your help is as simple as tackling one special cleaning project during your weekend stay that is above and beyond the basic building clean up. This could include washing of the windows, cleaning window screens, washing walls, cleaning light lens, washing the garbage cans etc. Check with the Factor for cleaning supplies to undertake these projects. Your help is as simple as becoming part of a work crew for one day and tackling a project to improve camp. A detailed list has been completed of almost 100 projects that need to be undertaken over the next year to make Camp Nemo a better place. A small sample of the 100 projects include:
-
buildings/windows/doors need painting/staining
-
eaves troughs will need cleaning once the trees are stripped of their leaves
-
one bridge is missing in action at the current time and needs to be replaced
-
a number of new doors need to be hung to replace doors that are falling apart
-
there is at least one building that needs to be shingled this fall (and the fall time sure beats going on the roof in the middle of the summer)
As you can see everyone can help in some manner. So just remember – THEY is EVERYONE.
